HON CO-CA NA TRAVELING HALTING MOTEL

National Architectural Award 2004 - Category of Project Prize.
Detail:
For long time, Hon Co-Ca Na has been a well-known jumping rock area on a beach with the bluest and clearest water in Vietnam. To increase the beauty of the natural terrain of this place, Arch. Nguyen Van Tat & Associates D’Architectura have designed this place to become an imposing halting place, tourist highlight, relaxing place for tourists on the National Highway 1A – where there is a nice sea area of the Central. Arch. Nguyen Van Tat & associates reserve for the Work a private language: strong, aery, comfortable and romantic – proper meaning for a luxurious inn – an Auberge motel. The architecture rises cheerfully in immense sea wind. Architects design a halting place chain with a large parking lot, mini supermarket, motel, restaurant, bar on beach, sports and spa Arch. Nguyen Van Tat uses the word “architectural shade” for drawings of Traveling Hon Co-Ca Na Motel. The shade is created from the architecture of the Work rather than large canopies. The Central Block is presented by a water tower-shaped architectural landmark – highlighted from afar, it gradually appears majestically and imposingly at a turn. The fast, strong and uninterrupted architectural rhythm is expressed with curves and acute angles combining with shaping industrial materials with cheerful colors. Motel blocks are arranged skillfully adjacent to natural white rocks look like sea birds perching on rocks with waves bobbing unceasingly in the distance.
